Tax Payments

2022 Property Taxes
The 2022 property tax notices will be mailed in November.

If you do not receive your notice by December 1, call the Civil & Tax Division at 225.638.5433 or 225.638.5400.

After December 31, 2022, the total amount due may change at any time during the delinquent process due to additional costs. Therefore, call one of the numbers above to verify the amount due before making a payment. Cash, credit cards, Postal money orders or Cashier's Checks are the only forms of payment that can be accepted once your unpaid taxes become delinquent. 

If you owe property taxes for Tax Year 2022, your payment is due DECEMBER 31, 2022.  Although the Civil & Tax Office will be open 8:00 am – 12:00 noon on Friday, December 30th process your payment(s), you will not be charged interest if you leave your payment in the drop box after 12:00 noon on December 31, 2022.  Please do NOT leave cash in the drop box.

Holiday Hours

The Civil & Tax Office, located behind the courthouse at 128 Court Street, New Roads, LA will be closed on Friday December 23, 2022, and Monday December 26, 2022 for the Christmas Holiday and will be closed at 12:00 noon Friday December 30, 2022 and all day January 2, 2023 for the New Year's holiday.
